Counselors David Penner, Ph.D. Dr. David Penner is a licensed clinical psychologist and is listed in the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology. His training and experience include mental health centers, hospital and medical clinics, university counseling centers and private practice. He was with CRISTA Counseling from 1982 to 2003. Dr. Penner is certified as a Gottman method couples therapist and is a consultant to other therapists who are seeking certification in this research based approach to marital therapy. In addition to seeing couples, Dr. Penner conducts individual therapy with clients with depression, anxiety, stress management, anger, abuse recovery and a wide range of other issues. Professionally trained in both psychology and theology, he has a particular interest in integrating Christian faith in clinical practice with clients who desire to incorporate spirituality into their therapy and personal growth. Anne
Seagle Carpenter, LCSW, MSWAC. Anne Seagle Carpenter is a State Licensed Clinical Social Worker and is Nationally Certified as a Masters of Social Work Addictions Counselor. She has degrees in Social Service, Rehabilitation, and Clinical Social Work. Additionally, Anne has received a variety of specialized trainings in the treatment of children and family and marital relations, disabilities, addictions, and abuse recovery. She has served in family and crisis clinics, primary and secondary schools, hospitals, drug and alcohol treatment programs, and private practice. Since 1978, Anne has provided therapy to people with anxiety, depression, abuse recovery issues, addictions, co-dependency, attention deficit disorder, behavior problems, parenting and relationship issues along with a wide range of other problems. Anne uses an eclectic approach to treatment using a variety of treatment methods. A few of these are cognitive therapy, play therapy, systems therapy, psychodynamic, and client centered treatment. Anne believes that treatment success is greatly enhanced by the quality of the client-therapist relationship. Therefore, she partners with the client to define the problems, and goals and choosing the treatment methods. J. Mathew, Ph.D. Dr. Jake Mathew is a licensed clinical psychologist who has worked in primary and secondary schools, drug/alcohol rehabilitation, mental health centers, hospitals, The Everett Clinic, and is a former KVI talk show host. He was with CRISTA Counseling from 2000 to 2003. Dr. Mathew works with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, stress and anger management, addictive behaviors, ADD/ADHD, trauma, and other related issues. He works with adults, adolescents, children, and couples. Like other Capstone counselors, Dr. Mathew shares a deep interest in integrating Christian faith in his clinical practice with clients who express such an interest. Pamela Barney, MN, ARNP Pam Barney is a licensed Adult Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Seattle Pacific University and her Master’s of Nursing from the University of Washington. Her training and experience include clinic, hospital and research settings. She has been in practice since 1995. Pam uses an eclectic approach tailoring her treatment to the personality and needs of her clients. She sees adults, 18 years of age and older, that are experiencing depression, anxiety, relationship issues, recovery from abuse, grief, loss, struggles with self-esteem, life transitions, and symptom management of stress related health issue such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), headaches, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. Pam’s Christian faith influences her values and worldview. Clients are always welcome to include the integration of Christian faith into their work with Pam, but she leaves this decision up to each individual person. |
